The Salt Route

Longitude: 2 km. in total.
Starting point: Square of Naval, from which we take Santo Cristo Street.

The salt route starts in Santo Cristo Street and contains various informative panels, which inform us of the natural and cultural value of this little known corner of Somontano.

Taking this route brings us close to the famous Naval salt pans, passing alongside the River Llastre in whose banks grow various species of trees and bushes like poplar, ash or willow.

The walk passes beneath the road bridge. We soon have to cross the river, before arriving at the La Rolda viewpoint, from which you can see the salt pans in their entirety.

From the viewpoint you can go right down to the salt pans. The route passes between the La Rolda and Pisa saltwoks, arriving at the River Llastre. Between fertile banks flanked by stonewalls, we cross a wooden bridge, which takes us to the foot of the steep paved road that leads into the town centre.
