The Ras Vals Way

Starting point: Center of Interpretation of the Río Vero in Castillazuelo.

Next to the Centre of Interpretation of the Río Vero, it should take the sheer asphalted street. To few meters and the right, we will see the indication that points out the beginning of the old Camino ras Vals that was used by the farmers of Castillazuelo to access to some of their cultivation fields. From the existent handrails in the first tract of the road, one can enjoy excellent panoramics of Castillazuelo and of the river Vero. To scarce 5 minutes of the beginning you arrives to the Mirador de ras Garitas, where there is an interpretation table that it will help us to know the characteristics of this sector of the valley.

After leaving the mirador behind, located in the highest point in the journey, the road begins to descend and to approach to the groves of the Vero, where numerous vegetable species grow, as sallows and poplars. These formations of forests are essential for the maintenance of the animal life and vegetable around the river, at the same time that they protect the banks of the erosion taken place by the current in moments of grown.

In a point of the road, it is appreciated with clarity some furrows dug in the rock, as a result of the waste that they originated the wheels from the cars when going by this place.

Without abandoning the road, you arrive comfortably to the Channel of CastillazueloJump of Pozán , and to the one that is possible to arrive in only 10 minutes.

Of the Jump of Pozán it should be returned to the Channel. After crossing the river Vero for him, it will take the road that reflects for the left riverside and that goes to Castillazuelo. Along the journey it is possible to enjoy the beauty of several quejigos, typical tree of Spain appreciated by their acorn, of great behavior and of new perspectives of the valley.
