The old hospital of Barbastro forms part of the Complex of San Julián, and stands just next to the Somontano Visitor Centre and the Tourist Information Office. It has been totally reformed and fitted out to house the Wine Zone, the headquarters of the governing body of the Denomination of Origin (D.O.) Somontano and a sales area for the excellent wines of the region.
The careful and innovative design of the centre complements the richness and variety of the wines created in Somontano. The many complexities of wine production are also revealed. Photographs, digital images and clever lighting accentuate the multitude of characteristics hidden in the high-quality wines of the local bodegas. The rich colours, fruity aromas and distinct flavours of the wines are the result of a combination of years of tradition and knowledge, and the application of modern technology. |
