Set inside the walls of a 16th century medieval enclosure, this unique Visitor Centre reveals the mysteries of the stories and traditions of Somontano. Located to the northwest of Adahuesca, the centre boasts excellent views across the Sevil mountain range. These proud mountains provide the setting for the well-known legend of the two grandmothers, who fled from a mountain village ravaged by the plague. The story is retold to visitors during a visit to the centre and is just one of the many legends to have been kept alive over the centuries, alongside ancient traditions and ancestral identities.
The gentle lighting that illuminates the panels and the maze-like network of display cabinets, contribute to the air of mystery and discovery. Enter the emotional world of legends and ancient histories and learn of mysterious occurrences. Discover magical beings such as witches and gnomes, many of which are linked to the deep religious beliefs of the Somontano people. |
