The course of the river, the course of history. The upstream, following the course of the River Vero, takes us along a journey through history and time.

This route guides us through nine towns which allow one to discover various countysides that run from the riversides and mounts to the sierras and steep riverbanks, passing by vineyards and illex covered hills. You are in the heart the Cultural Park of the River Vero, an authentic outdoor museum.

Through this route it will be possible to ascend to the tract of the river Vero understood between the town of Castillazuelo and Buera gradually, while it's possible to visit another interesting town center, old construction hydraulics and varied landscapes, in those it's combined cultivation fields, riversides forests and oaks forests.

In Barbastro it should take the highway A-1232 that goes to Alquézar. To scarce 5 km of the regional capital Castillazuelo, an excellent place to begin this route. The vehicle can be parked in the town's entrance. A calm walk for its streets can be the best form of beginning the journey next to the river Vero. After to travel their welcoming main street and to cross the square of the church, you arrive to the slender bridge of stone of the XVI century, for which you access to the Center of Interpretation of the Río Vero. Their visit is fundamental to know the general characteristics of the natural and human means that it has been developed during centuries around this river. The one taken care and attractive exhibition of its contents guarantees the enjoyment of all those that visit him, without caring the age that you have.

After the visit, and before returning to the parking, it is very interesting to carry out a simple and pleasant circulate self-guided walk for both riversides of the river Vero, well-known with the name
Camino ras Vals. After concluding the journey, we will continue our route by road. The following riverside town to where we will go is Pozán de Vero, known by its candied almonds, the witch Dominique the Cripple and being cradle of one of the most outstanding "rondadores" (the persons who courts the girls) in the XX century in the district, Joaquín Campodarbe.

Continuing the ascent for the wide valley of the river Vero, we will have the possibility to enjoy the riverside groves that travel trough their riverbed, home of numerous species of fauna.

In the right riverbank of the river Vero is Huerta de Vero, town that conserves an interesting downtown with important examples of popular architecture, as well as its parochial church.

Following the route to the north, we will arrive to the detour in which we will take the road to the town of Buera. Their downtown also possesses interesting traditional constructions, decked out with shields, arched doors and beautiful paved patios. From this town it can be carried out a simple itinerary, call on
Camino de Dulcis. Soon, it will be able to visit one another the Center of Interpretation of the Oil, in which the secrets of this essential product will be shown for their people. It is also in preparation the one on the Way to the Water, in which will be been able to enjoy fresh and unknown places endowed with sources and traditional laundries.

We will say goodbye to Buera to return to the highway A-1232 and to continue overcoming the river Vero. To a kilometre of the deviation of Buera it is the magnificen
Puente de la Albarda, considered conserved one of the most beautiful and better of the county of Huesca.

After enjoying of this it pierces riverside, we will be able to continue our journey going to the medieval village of Alquézar, where we will conclude this route. Since the monumental group of Alquézar possesses numerous elements of interest, it is recommended to visit him in a leisurely way, just as it is described in the Route 7.
